What is Kara Pilates, and how is it different from other Pilates studios?
Kara Pilates is a small boutique studio with a focus on visual, tactile and imagery cueing to support different learning styles and abilities. Our team continues professional education each year, attending courses and expos to stay up to date with the latest evidence and practice.
How long are classes?
Classes run for 60 minutes, including stretching.
Can I do gym and Pilates on the same day?
Yes. Pilates focuses on smaller, intricate muscles, core strength and stability. It uses spring resistance rather than traditional weights, making it a great complement to gym training.
Is there an age limit at Kara Pilates?
14 years of age is the recommended minimum.
What should I bring to my first class?
Please bring grip socks, water and a sweat towel.
How do I book a class?
You can book through our website or via the Momence app.
What is the cancellation policy?
We have a 24-hour cancellation window. Passes will be forfeited if cancelled within this window.
What membership options are available?

Can I freeze or pause my membership?
Yes. 7 days’ written notice is required after the initial 8-week sign-up period.
What is the Intro Offer?
Our Intro Offer includes two classes per week for four weeks. It is the perfect place to start.
I’m pregnant. Can I still attend regular classes?
Yes, of course. Our instructors can modify exercises to help keep you moving safely. Please let us know before class so we can support you appropriately.
Post-baby, when can I re-join?
You can re-join from 6 weeks postpartum with medical clearance.
I have an injury. Can I still do Kara Pilates?
Most classes can be modified around injuries. If you require more specific support, we also offer group physio rehab classes.
Is there parking available at the studio?
Yes, we have a large carpark to the left of our building.
What time should I arrive before class?
Please arrive 5 minutes early.
What are my chances of getting into a class from the waitlist?
There is a fair chance. Jump on the waitlist – spots often become available.
